Born
in Lachine, Quebec, Martha Markowsky, an elected member
of the Canadian Society of Artists, is probably best known for her impressionistic paintings of
orchestral musical ensembles.
In addition, Martha paints vibrant nostalgic urban landscapes
of children at play in old Quebec neighbourhoods, as well as
the dark interior of bar room scenes.
In addition to her painting, she also teaches classes in oils
and acrylics and conducts workshops in the Charlevoix region.
Martha also lectures and demonstrates her techniques to art
and university groups.
She has had more than 20 solo exhibitions, is recipient of
numerous awards and commissions from both public institutions
and private collectors. Martha is now represented by major
galleries across Canada and her works are in collections in
Canada, the U.S., and Europe. |
