Born in Chicoutimi on May 2^nd 1961, Doris moved to Montreal with her family at the age of one and remained there through her formative years. She lived in the U.S for a time, only to come back to Montreal in 1999 where she still resides.

Doris Savard has been painting full-time for the past 17 years.  After studying fine art in various private institutions, she decided to attend Bishop’s University. There she met professor Seymour Segal, an internationally renowned artist who helped trigger a radical evolution in her approach to painting. She quickly adopted a new style, transforming every brushstroke into a free, spontaneous and energetic expression of colour emerging from within.
